Supervisor: Director of Development & Marketing

Term: November 2026 – April 2027

Compensation: $2,500 for six months ($1,250 at the halfway mark and $1,250 at the end)

About Efshar

The Efshar Project is a Colorado-based nonprofit working to strengthen and expand Jewish early childhood education (ECE) so that more children and families can access high-quality, welcoming early learning experiences.

Efshar partners with Jewish early childhood programs, educators, school leaders, families, and community organizations across Colorado to build stronger schools, support the early childhood workforce, engage families, and expand access to Jewish early childhood education.

Efshar is a growing organization with a statewide vision and a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture. As we continue to expand our reach and impact, strong storytelling, thoughtful communications, effective fundraising, and meaningful community engagement are increasingly important to our work.

About the Internship

The Development & Marketing Intern will work closely with Efshar’s Director of Development & Marketing to provide hands-on support with communications, fundraising, events, and digital content.

This internship is designed for a college student interested in gaining practical experience while contributing meaningfully to a growing nonprofit organization. The Director of Development & Marketing will set strategy, messaging, and fundraising priorities, while the intern will help turn those priorities into well-executed communications, materials, data, and events.

Because this is a small organization, the intern will have the opportunity to see how nonprofit marketing and development work together and to contribute to real projects that support Efshar’s growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing & Digital Communications

  • Create and format graphics and visual materials using Canva and other digital tools.
  • Help prepare and schedule social media content.
  • Assist with website updates, blog posts, program news, and other digital content.
  • Support email communications and newsletters.
  • Edit and format short-form video and other multimedia content.
  • Organize Efshar’s photo, video, graphic, and communications libraries.
  • Help maintain consistency across Efshar’s visual materials and communications.

Development & Fundraising Support

  • Conduct research on prospective donors, foundations, and funding opportunities.
  • Enter and update donor and prospect information in Efshar’s database.
  • Help prepare and format donor materials, presentations, reports, and campaign communications.
  • Maintain organized development records, lists, and materials.
  • Support fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship activities under the direction of the Director of Development & Marketing.

Event Support

  • Assist with preparation for Efshar events, including registration, attendee lists, nametags, signage, presentations, and other materials.
  • Help manage event communications and registration information.
  • Capture and organize photos, videos, testimonials, and stories at selected events.
  • Provide occasional in-person support with setup, guest check-in, and other event logistics.
  • Assist with Efshar’s annual Powering Possibilities fundraiser and other signature events.

Project & Data Support

  • Help maintain organized digital files and shared resources.
  • Assist with data entry, tracking, and basic reporting related to development and communications.
  • Take ownership of discrete projects based on organizational needs and the intern’s skills and interests.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a creative, organized, curious, and dependable college student who is excited to learn and contribute to a growing nonprofit.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Comfort using Google Workspace and learning new technology.
  • Interest in using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort with detail-oriented work and data.
  • The ability to complete assignments independently, manage deadlines, and ask questions when needed.
  • A collaborative, flexible approach to working with a small team.

Experience with graphic design, photography, video editing, social media, website content management, or fundraising is a plus but not required.

Undergraduate and graduate students studying communications, marketing, graphic design, public relations, nonprofit management, business, education, Jewish studies, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Gain

This internship is designed to provide meaningful professional experience. The intern will work directly with Efshar’s Director of Development & Marketing, contribute to real organizational projects, and have opportunities to build a portfolio of work.
