About Us

In 2008, The Efshar Project (formerly known as the Colorado Jewish ECE Initiative) was created to build Jewish identity through increasing access to high quality professional learning experiences. Today, we have expanded our work and refined our core mission.

We work on behalf of the:

11 Jewish early childhood education centers in the Denver/Boulder community
Approximately 200 educators
Almost 1000 children
850 families that attend our partner early learning centers and preschools

Access Initiative

10/6/26: Efshar’s Access Initiative is working to expand access to high-quality Jewish early childhood education for families across Colorado. Through research, community engagement, innovative pilot programs, and new models of care—including family child care homes—we are exploring solutions that address the barriers families face, from affordability and availability to distance and convenience. Our goal is to build sustainable, scalable pathways that bring Jewish early childhood experiences closer to more families while strengthening connections to the broader Jewish community.
